Best of Lyng #2: Dave Thorpe - Solidude.

Thorpey was my fuckin' hero when was a kiddie-dink and I remember recording this off TV and watching it more than a 15 year old watches his dad's porn that he found in the back of his wardrobe. This Crash is pretty gnarly, but Thorpe, like the fucking Pro that he is just shakes it off and comes out for the third moto. Doesn't quite get it done but still, respect to the guy for even getting back out there. This was the 3rd round in 1987 and up until this very moment the 2 time (at the time) world champion hadn't lost a moto. Now I'm sure Thorpe probably wouldn't find this one of HIS best moment's of Lyng but I feel there is something iconic about this crash, I think most people have watched it at some point and I get the feeling everyone heard about this in 1987 as he was the fuckin' man around this time. For me this is also an example of the way that the Cadders Hill track can at any time just give you a swift kick in the muff and make even the most solid(ude)of dudes wish for the comfort of the inside of thier mothers womb..........I was in your mothers womb last night. Word.
